Tara

I've come here once or twice. An easy trip from Dublin with a car.

Not too far from the Hill of Slane. The Ancient seat of the High Kings. Not spectacular but there's a feeling about this place. A tranquility. Meath is known as the Royal County on account of Tara.

Hill of Slane

St Patrick made a big splash in this neck of the woods over 1500 years ago. The church dates from the sixteenth century however.

Northwest

Late August on the Donegal coast. Around eight in the evening on a deserted beach. Up here its different says the guidebook. It sure is.

This is a Gaelic speking area a little further down the coast. One of the holdouts though I'm not sure what percentage of people would use the language every day.
